Laurie Smith - Managing Director

Laurie began his career in the Hydrographic Survey world with the Decca Navigation Co. in 1965.

His expertise is very varied in the full spectrum of high precision Navigation and Hydrographic and Airborne products. These cover Microwave (Trisponder) to DGPS and RTK/OTF operations. He masterminded the Certification of ISO 9001:2000 issued by BVQI  to maintain the high quality set with all Del Norte equipment supplies.

Widely travelled, he has gained experience with systems and situations that have now given his team the edge over other competitive companies. The MoD Hydrographic Navy has always been assured of Del Norte's best attention in supply, maintenance and support for the contracts held.

Neil J Carter-Davies - Product Support Manager

Neil entered into the Hydrographic business with Geodata Systems Ltd in Feb 1983. During his career with Geodata he gained valuable experience in R&D, Production & Testing and this then enabled him to set up and run a Service department for their underwater acoustic positioning equipment.

He joined Del Norte in 1989 and spent time upgrading Trisponder for the MoD Hydrographic Navy which gave him the ideal means to learn all the problems and techniques associated with Hydrographic Surveying. This he then developed with the introduction of GPS up to the current day RTK/OTF systems.

In 1993 he successfully passed a series of exams by the Institute of Quality Assurance which enabled him to contribute to Del Norte's ISO 9001.2000 certification.
