War is never good for anyone as we have learnt through history. The war in Iraq is an issue that will be discussed for years to come. The British and American effort has turned out to be a huge struggle and it is with this reason that Del Norte was called to assist in helping to stop any more loss of life by supplying power supplies for the Laser Mortar Detectors, thus being able to reliably detect mortar fire and other missiles.
Del Norte was approached after a world search to find a reliable and robust water-proof power supply that would provide a stable 24 vdc from any known AC mains supply at not less than 13.5 Amps in the extreme temperatures of Iraq.
Without hesitation we went to the US Army aid and accepted their challenge. Our expertise has enabled us to be associated with some of the best manufacturers and advisors in our industry. The first two units were shipped to Baghdad within one week and proved so successful that another 24 were ordered and delivered. The current order ( July 2004) was for another 50 units which were supplied within two weeks direct to Baghdad to power the many Laser Mortar detector's they have. Until we supplied these universal Power Supply Units the Laser Mortar detectors have been powered by good 'ole batteries because the supplied 115vac PSU's were totally inadequate for the current required in the ambient temperature of the Middle East. We just hope that now many lives will be saved and we are pleased to react to the urgent requirement and play our part. The last 50 units were supplied in Stainless Steel water-proof enclosures, ensuring that they are also corrosion free.
The supplied unique PSU have overload, reverse polarity, over and under temperature and short circuit protected. Together with being dust and water-proof. 90 - 265 vac to 24-26 vdc at 40 Amps. It's awesome
