Complete DGPS Hydrographic Survey System...

Del Norte has recently been involved in upgrading (2004 the Fenland District Council survey system to enable a greater flexibility of Hydrographic operations.  The one Box solution used so successfully for many years is still going strong.

The upgrade of Hypackmax software  to the latest version has really enhanced the final charts of the Port's river and approach channel surveys performed by the Harbour Master. The yearly  Hypack Training Seminar is essential in keeping the Harbour Master up to date with the latest upgrades and tools.

The latest system additions supplied are DGPSMax DGPS Receiver, Valeport 740 Tide Gauge and a new computer system.  This add's to the very reliable system originally supplied and working without fault.

The Port has a new smaller survey launch where the very portable and robust survey system can be installed for very shallow water areas within the port.

The new Valeport Tide Gauge is initially meant for portable use to give accurate tide data when working within the extreme areas of the port.

The Ohmex Tide Gauge is still installed on the Port Sutton Bridge jetty and at Wisbech. The Harbour Office logs the data from both gauges on Ohmex software with a tide profile provided for history. The vessel can receive the tide data which is time tagged and logged together with position and depth by the HypackMax software. A tide remote display is installed on the Sutton Swing Bridge to give up-to-date data for passing vessels.
